My Approach, Insurance & Fees

My approach is rooted in a trauma framework, blending together body based Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR and parts work with more traditional relational and feminist psychodynamics. I am interested in not only getting to know your story, but your body and where it experiences safety & danger, as well as the parts of you that have been abandoned, or serve to protect those abandoned parts.

Together we will unpack core beliefs about yourself and discover where and who you learned them from. We will uncover how they have impacted your sense of self. Through EMDR, we can reprocess distressing memories and negative beliefs together that are keeping you from living your fullest, most authentic life.

In my opinion, understanding the impact of oppressions such as racism, homophobia, transphobia, fat-phobia, and misogyny can help us heal parts of us that have been rejected and shamed, and bring us closer to fully loving & accepting ourselves.

If you are looking for a therapist to write a letter for gender affirmation surgery, I will bring these values into our work together to help you feel empowered and affirmed by the process.

My rate is based off of the location you are in, as I have a remote practice in NY state (Lenape Territory) with a rate of $200 for 45 min, and in person in Missouri (Osage & Sioux Territory) with a rate of $175 for 45 min. Hour long sessions are available at a prorated amount.

A percentage of my spots are sliding scale for QTPOC folks. If you need sliding scale for any reason please still reach out as I try to work with folks when possible based off of their needs and my availability.

I do not take insurance, but I am able to create a superbill for sessions, which can be submitted for out of network benefits or to meet a deductible. If you call the number on the back of your insurance card, you can learn more about the benefits your plan has. If you have an HSA card, I should most likely be able to accept that for payments.

All funds from missed & late cancelled sessions are used to support my work with queer & trans asylum seeking folks. You can donate to Immigration Equality directly here.
